... shouldn't we start publicizing this LJ community?

During the next meeting, anyways. God knows, 99% of the school has an LJ anyways. Better postage access to events, directions, maps, ideas... etc. :)

Ten-four,
Suh

5/9/05 09:38 pm - leidenschaftlic - Convention

Definition: a bunch of really cool key clubbers from high schools in our district (Fl.) get together for a fun filled weekend in orlando where they attend boring assemblies, participate in educational key club related workshops, watch a pretty cool talent show by other key clubbers, enjoy a fascinating hypnotist, swim at the circle k (college version of key club) pool party, run around in bed sheets for the toga party, and just have an all around amazing time getting to know their fellow key clubbers.

sounds good huh? well, a VERY lucky 6 people from our school, including myself, were fortunate enough to attend this years convention. i think i speak for us all when i say that it was friggin awesome! the hypnotist was hilarious and there was a very entertaining sign language comedian/motivating speaker. he was ::does sign for "cool":: cool. as a matter of fact he was ::waves hand in C shape at side of head and does sign for "cool":: CRAZY COOL! lol you had to be there.
everyone got all pretty for the governors farewell. thats where we bid the gov. of fl key club adue (sp?) along with the rest of the district board and induct the new district board. Congrats to our new LTG (Lieutenant Governor (like a president for a division of schools (we are div. 26B))) William Martin, aka: MICKEY! although he was nervous getting inducted, his feelings were eased when the chicks chanted "hey mickey you're so fine! you're so fine!! you blow my mind!!! hey MICKEY!!!!" hehehe but really, he did great and we're looking forward to a year of service with him.

I'm proud to say that our club also entered in the poster contest. thank you alina balaguero for making it for us. the poster was magnificent, however we did not win on account of a technicality. :-( the good news: we achieved 4 patches to put on our key club banner. yay! now it won't be so embarassing to go to events with our formerly empty banner! :-)

the workshops were mostly a waste of time...I mean, they were a most enriching, thought-provoking experience i would not have missed out on for the world! I managed to actually get some pretty cool ideas from my workshops though.

columbus had the grand idea to have a toga party. so the guys ran around in bed sheets, very sexy. they are a trip. gotsta love private school bois! :-P

on our bus ride we managed to network with some local clubs including south miami, homestead, gables, and south dade. we are looking forward to working with them too!

BOTTOM LINE: CONVENTION IS AMAZING AND IF YOU DIDN'T GO THIS YEAR, YOU SHOULD GO NEXT YEAR. I PROMISE YOU WONT REGRET IT!!!

Always in Service and Support,
Sarah :-P

PS: if you took digital pics at convention, please send them to me: crhskeyvp@hotmail.com thanks! :-D
